Clinical Training
DBT & ACT
I have extensive training in DBT by treatment creator Marsha Linehan’s training group. I spent years working in a comprehensive DBT program and bring real-world clinical examples into the classroom. I've also pursued individualized training in mindfulness and ACT consultation with Lou Lasprugato, an ACBS Peer-Reviewed ACT Trainer and Fellow. I regularly teach these behavioral therapies at the University of Chicago in graduate-level courses and fellowships.
I follow the DBT premise that therapists should never ask clients to do something they themselves are unwilling to do. To that end, my training is highly experiential, offering opportunities to both learn and practice interventions. I adapt my offerings to fit the needs of each organization. Recent speaking engagements include the University of Michigan and the Women's Association for Addiction Treatment.
